WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU DO:

I'm Katie. I began Silk Laundry in 2014 and I am proud that it's still standing. I am also a mother of two of the cutest little boys.

IF YOU WEREN'T DOING THIS WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?

I would be working with animals in some way, be a perfumer or studying sustainability and the environment. Many of these things aren't off the table though and I hope to achieve them whilst still at Silk Laundry.

FAVOURITE THINGS TO DO IN YOUR CITY:

My body does not seem to cope with the sun very well, so I am usually trying to stay out of the heat and sun. I do love going to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and also taking drives up to Brisbane to visit GOMA.

WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH THE HARDEST?

A few of my friends can always make me laugh pretty hard. I love being able to laugh at myself and I also for some reason really like on windy rainy days when peoples umbrellas turn inside out. I love how shocked they always are!

SHARABLE QUIRKS ABOUT YOURSELF:

I find completing tasks difficult. Even when I am washing the dishes, I will just leave one cup in the sink rather than finishing the entire lot. I really don't know why.

BEAUTY SECRETS:

I don't think it's a secret but I wear SPF 50 every day and I am big on hair oil.

SIGNATURE SCENT:

I definitely don't have a signature as my mood changes daily. At the moment I love Byredo Blanche and Le Labo Ambrette.

BEST ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN:

Never say no to an invitation, and if theres a dress you really love, just buy it even if you have nowhere to wear it (yet).

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST DAY JOB?

I was a tower diver when I was younger so my first real job was teaching Learn to Dive to all the children. So cute!

YOUR IDEA OF A PERFECT DAY:

Sleeping in, eating crepes for breakfast and going to a gallery.

Cuddle my boys.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT SILK LAUNDRY AS A BRAND?

I love how comfortable everything feels. The slip dresses have really become like my second skin and it's my go to for work, dinners and parties. I just change up the color.
